Why Gloria Richardson?
As the leader of the Cambridge Nonviolent Action Committee, Gloria Richardson redefined the fight for equality by demanding economic justice and full desegregation. Famously photographed pushing aside a National Guardsman’s bayonet with calm indifference, she became a permanent symbol of resistance.
