OUR PROCESS

Care. Craft. Consistency.

The Steps

STEP 1:

Planning

  •  Our team works directly with you to capture your vision for the project.
  •  We use reference photos, sketches, pictures, print, and even live models to capture a likeness.
STEP 2:

Sculpting in Clay

  •  Our skilled sculptors bring your commission to life – using a combination of metal frames, foam core and clay.
  •  You will receive images of the work as it progresses for your review and ongoing feedback.
STEP 3:

Building the Mold

  •  Once you have approved the final clay sculpture, our mold builders meticulously coat the clay with layers of silicone rubber followed by a hard shell to hold everything together.
STEP 4:

Casting

  •  The rubber mold is used to cast in the material of your choice of white bonded marble or bronze.
STEP 5:

Finishing

  •  The statue is then inspected with our finishers removing any casting lines, imperfections, and carefully cleaning, polishing and applying any patina to give depth and tone.

Materials

The most popular metal for casting a metal sculpture; a cast bronze sculpture is often called simply a “bronze”.  Bronze casting material is a blend of 90% copper and 10% tin.

A proprietary balance of resin and finely selected white marble powders blended together to create a casting material used in all our manufacturing of bonded marble statue making.

A blend of  burned lime and clay that mixes together with the sand, gravel, and water. When it dries, it hardens and becomes concrete. Concrete statues are typically reserved for outdoor garden statues and fountains.

Durable and lightweight resin.  Statues are cast hollow and require painted finish work

Casting resin is offered with a variety of fill material, most popular is marble powders. Statues can be cast solid or hollow depending on size and girth and require painted finish work.

Mix of casting resin and fiberglass shreds or sheets.  Statues are made hollow, become lightweight and require painted finish work.
