Why Ruza Wenclawska?
A Polish immigrant and factory worker, Ruza Wenclawska, brought a vital working-class perspective to the fight for the vote. As a member of the Silent Sentinels, she was arrested for picketing the White House and participated in hunger strikes to demand political dignity. Owning this piece is a tribute to a “Voice for the People, a woman who bridged the gap between the labor and suffrage movements, proving that justice is a universal necessity.
