This seven-foot bronze monument transforms an iconic championship photograph into a permanent tribute to the Philadelphia Flyers and their historic Stanley Cup victories.
The composition portrays captain Bobby Clarke and goaltender Bernie Parent raising the Stanley Cup. Their shared gesture captures the exhilaration of the Flyers' first championship in 1974 while honoring the team that defended its title in 1975.
Translating a celebrated photograph into sculpture requires more than recreating a frozen pose. The relationship between the two athletes, the height of the trophy, the movement of their arms and the monument's silhouette all work together so the scene remains recognizable from multiple viewpoints.
Installed outside the Philadelphia sports complex, the monument gives supporters a physical connection to the Flyers teams that won consecutive Stanley Cup championships in 1974 and 1975.
Championship monuments preserve more than a final score. They give teams, cities and generations of supporters a shared place to remember the athletes, leadership and collective experience behind a defining sports achievement.
